| Popis: | OBECTIVE: To evaluate different parameters of lipid metabolism serum triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). METHODS: This case-control study was conducted at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine & Metabolic Diseases (BIRDEM) Hospital from January 2009 to December 2009. Sixty (36 GDM and 24 healthy) pregnant women at their 3rd trimester, selected by convenient-sampling method were included in the study. Data was collected by a structured questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS-22. RESULTS: Mean age was 30.05+5.62 years & 28.87+4.17 years in patients with GDM and without GDM respectively.
