Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of probiotics (Clostridium butyricum) combined with Otilonium bromide in treatment of diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) and influence on serum CRP level.Methods A total of 93 patients were randomly divided into test group and control group, treated for 8 weeks with Clostridium butyricum combined with Otilonium bromide and Otilonium bromide alone, respectively. The efficacy, adverse reactions, and the serum CRP level between the two groups were evaluated. Results There was a significant correlation between the frequency of defecation and the severity of abdominal pain as well as the level ofserum CRP （ρ=0.773, P=0.000; ρ= 0.734, P0.05). Conclusion The level of serum CRP in IBS-D patients is related to the severity oftheir symptoms. The probiotics (Clostridium butyricum) combined with Otilonium bromide can effectively alleviate the symptoms and improve the condition of patients, and the serum CRP level will decrease accordingly,which could be used as one of indicators for efficacy. |
