Popis: | This paper centers on questions of gender and translation raised by feminist scholars and Translation Studies scholars in the 1970s. Susan Bassnett discusses the arguments shed light by the feminist criticism – concerning ways in which societies marginalize women and women’s creative processes – and those argued by translation scholarship – concerning the manipulative processes involved in the supposedly “innocuous” transfer of texts from a culture to another – and how these areas have been connected. Following the Bassnett’s point of view, this translation intends to be a political activity in which feminist strategies of translation are chosen in order to make the own content of the text visible in the translation. |
