Popis: In Vibrio cholerae, a type IVa pilus (T4aP) binds to exogenous DNA, and threads this DNA through the outer membrane secretin, PilQ. Here authors present the cryoEM structure of PilQ from native V. cholerae cells and design a series of mutants to reversibly regulate VcPilQ gate dynamics.
