Starting from the literary production on Italian immigration produced in Espírito Santo and from the dates of the census, this article intends to analyze the construction of the Italian myth as the leading ethnic group that constitutes the identity of Capixaba, through quantitative research on works produced between 1870 and 1940 and an analysis of it. We have concluded that literature has helped to create and confirm this myth by reproducing the dreams and achievements of immigrants. |
