In many studies on residents' attitudes discussed the determinants of current attitudes, dividing them into economic, social and environmental. Although the factors and the resulting attitudes vary from one case to another and these differences not due only to raised causal model. It is of interest to situate the analysis in a more general context to help to understand the results of traditional causal studies. In this generic context, can consider that the culture, society and traditional economy determine attitudes and the tourist development in its inception, affecting the future of the tourist destination. Subsequently, the interaction between tourism development and residents overlaps with traditional society, determining tourist image, residents' attitudes, supply and demand. The objective of this work is to apply this global vision to the case of Ibiza, by a historiographical study, to exemplify this theoretical contribution to the analysis of tourist destinations. |
