Popis: | The article succinctly describes key events in the historical course of anatomical illustration since the 15th century. A brief review of the connection between art and medicine in the Renaissance period is made, where the communion of doctors and artists around anatomical dissections is clear. Some historical elements behind the origin of the profession of medical illustrator are highlighted and, mainly, the prominence in the 20th century of some medical illustrators, who have not only given freedom to their artistic skills with drawing, but also, have dedicated their lives to the art of medicine. |
