Popis: In this paper, we wish to question the various temporalities associated with the writing of a thesis in geography. Thus, the aim is to highlight the modalities of construction of geographical knowledge that are the outcome of doctorates. These modalities are diverse. Scientifically, they are on the one hand the reflection of the student's personal construction through his or her career path, the time of the construction of his or her own scientific approach upstream of the dissertation, his or her professionalization, as well as the times of failure. On the other hand, they are also the reflection of different legacies transmitted in the long run by the scientific community as a whole or through more specific groups. These legacies are sometimes called into question by the very nature of the thesis, inscribing it in a long disciplinary time. Finally, extra-scientific temporalities can also intervene and enter in conflict with the construction of knowledge.
