Popis:	Based on a reconstruction of the library of Gaston d’Orléans (1608-1660), this article considers the prince’s ancient culture from the perspective of his books. It sets the reading of ancient languages and texts in the context of the collection and examines the intellectual and material choices presiding over the selection of editions in the three major disciplines covered by the collection: history, sciences and belles lettres.
