Popis: | Based on a corpus analysis of the Poitevin language, this article explores the diasystemic relationship that unites Oïl varieties both with each other and with reference French. More than a strictly geographical periphery, the non-standard varieties appear above all as a social periphery, which guarantees them a certain level of vitality: even if they are no longer acquired in childhood, they can still be acquired later, as they mark the belonging to a socio-professional milieu. Furthermore, transmission is facilitated by structural proximity to the French language, since the variation affecting the linguistic sign is only a surface phenomenon. |
