Sexual violence against females and its impact on their sexual function

Popis: Background: To date, there are no accurate Egyptian epidemiological studies evaluating the magnitude of the problem of female sexual violence and its impact on female sexual function. Objective: To evaluate the magnitude of sexual violence (prevalence, scene, pattern, assailants, and contributing factors), and to evaluate its impact on female sexual function. Method: This cross sectional study involved 150 participants, who completed selfreport question-naires. Sexually active female participants fulfilled full history-taking and general examination. Sexual function was assessed by using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). Results: All participants were exposed to violence [Verbal, Pornography, Sexual contact and Rape]. Out of 46 sexually active participants, 33 had sexual dysfunction.
