In recent years, many studies have shown a link between the level of particulate matter (PM) pollution in big cities and various health problems, including a large number of cardiorespiratory diseases such as asthma or lung cancer. In order to know to what extent proximity to PM pollution is a factor in these diseases and how to efficiently reduce the impact of this pollution, the University of Technology of Compiègne, the University of Pierre and Marie Curie and the INSERM (Institut National de Santé Et Recherche Médicale) have launched the Partless project. This project aims at modelling particle matter dispersion in an urban area and its consequences on human health. This paper focuses on a new approach of the emission model that consists in fitting together different existing methods. This will allow us to assess the benefits and disadvantages of several combinations of PM pollution mitigation levers in a street of Paris. The wide-ranging levers are related to engine combustion, urban morphology and vehicles circulation strategies. |
