Popis: UPF1 is a central Nonsense-mediated mRNA decay—(NMD), a mechanism to degrade mRNAs containing premature translation termination codons-factor—whose phosphorylation is key to triggering NMD. Here the authors show that the DHX34 helicase acts as a scaffold in promoting UPF1 phosphorylation by SMG1 to promotes NMD.
