Popis: Introduction: The quality of patients’ lives has always has pursued. Stroke is the first cause among neurological diseases and the third cause of mortality. This article has been analyzed the effects of multisensory stimulation therapy using virtual reality on lower limb functionality and this functionality has been measured objectively by us through gait analysis. Method: The study was conducted in 66 patients with stroke. They were distributed in two homogeneous lots (the average age being over 50 years in the studied lots) The study group performed physiokinetotherapeutic treatment and multi-sensory stimulation therapy with virtual reality, the control group performed physiokinetotherapeutic treatment without virtual reality therapy. The motor function of the inferior paresis was initially evaluated and at 6 months. Result: The results of the study showed that spasticity had an average that decreased in six months from 1,83 to 1,26 and in the control group from 1,95 to 1,81. Thus the treatment effect on lower limb spasticity was 3,5 times higher in the study group than the control group (ES=0,42, respectively ES=0,12). The effect of the treatment on the length of the waiting phase – left was 3.3 times higher in the study group as compared to the control group (ES=1.32, respectively ES= 0.40) by the Timed Up an Go test. Conclusion: These new therapeutic methods have been demonstrated a significant impact not only on diagnosis but also on the prevention of pathological disorders of hemiplegic walking.
