The Gott concept refers to the fundamental concepts that determine the human consciousness, and through the study of language means, representing it, allows you to reconstruct the people’s view of the world. In the German language, as in many others, the concept under study is widely represented in the lexico-phraseological fund and paremia, which in a concentrated form reflect the value orientations and worldview. The main methods of research are the conceptual analysis, based on lexicographical and semantic analysis, as well as free linguistic associative experiment and the method of continuous sampling. Until now, this concept has not been subjected to a comprehensive complex description based on conceptual and value characteristics. Results. On the basis of the study, the structure of the concept Gott was modeled, which includes a number of conceptual features: Almighty, all-knowing, Creator, judge, worthy of praise and gratitude, etc. Practical implications. The results of the study will contribute to cognitive research of the language, description of concepts, study of the national linguistic view of the world and comparative study of languages and concepts, phraseology and paremiology.
