Popis: | The problems of the relationship between the parish clergy of the Tobolsk North and secular authorities in the XVIII - early XX centuries are discussed in the article. The questions that served as the subject of their common interests are highlighted. It is noted that an important problem, generally successfully resolved by the end of the synodal period, was the filling of vacancies of priests and clergymen. It is noted that an important problem, generally successfully resolved by the end of the synodal period, was the filling of vacancies of priests and clergymen. It is emphasized that at the same time there were situations when the participation of church ministers in the implementation of national tasks was required: preparing a translation of the "Statute on the management of foreigners", swearing in to the new emperor, organizing school construction, landscaping, participating in collegial institutions, etc. The support of the clergy in the fight against the “remnants” of paganism and in their concern for the spiritual and moral state of the newly baptized by the secular authorities was initially expressed in the use of violence against the “lost”. It is shown that in the future there was alleviation of state policy on this matter. It is concluded that the general trends characterizing the evolution of the relationship between the clergy and secular authorities are associated with the restriction of the interference of clergy in the internal life of the indigenous population, while expanding their participation in various forms of social service. |
