IMMERSIVE JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE IN THE RUSSIAN MEDIA

Popis: The purpose of the article is to study the experience of the Russian media in the field of creating immersive content. The empirical basis of the study was 216 immersive materials of the Russia Today TV channel and 26 immersive materials of RIA Novosti. The study was implemented by the content analysis method. The technique of expert interviews was also used to collect information about the activities of the Directorate of New Media of MIA “Russia Today”. Results. The article analyzes Russian media experience, i.e., Russia Today channel and RIA Novosti, in using of virtual reality and augmented reality tools and 360° video technology; number, timing, genre and theme specifics and their popularity among the audience are determined; primary issues of Russian media in immersive content production are identified. The results obtained will be useful in researching trends in the development of journalism, and may also be useful for media editorial offices interested in developing new media product formats and attracting new audience groups.
