The objective of the article is to compare the approaches of Wilhelm Dilthey about the relationship between individual experience and historical consciousness with those of Danilo Martuccelli about challenges of society at the scale of the experiences of individuals. This comparison aims to approach an issue that has become an element of epistemological discussion for the social sciences, in relation to the ability to understand phenomena of society based on individual experiences. For this, a hermeneutical-interpretative study was carried out, based on the bibliographic review of key texts by both authors, complemented by the reading of publications that address their theoretical approaches. It was found that, although distant in time, the authors address the epistemological challenge in relation to the possibility of understanding societal phenomena from individual experiences, articulating an analytical relationship between the particular and the general. |
