Popis: This study considers the massive demonstrations of 2003-2004 that led to the fall of Aristide and the “hunger riots” of 2008 as political expressions and understands them as a “reality in its own right” and not in terms of regime or government change. In Haiti, in the early twenty-first century, these uprisings are not concurrent with a “left turn”, but on the contrary, occur in a political space’s mutation marked by the massive presence of the international “assistance”. We must examine the impact of this “assistance” on the possibility of a popular upsurge revealing the “misunderstanding”. This emergence is facing a peaceful conception of democracy leading to a misguided understanding of the revolt understood as the claim of a place. Nevertheless, despite the investment of political space by the foreign assistance process, is a form of political emergence still possible to reject translation of dissatisfaction into statutory claims?
