Scars are a natural consequence of the wound healing process, but excessive scarring can lead to aesthetic and functional concerns. This paper aims to review current scar treatment methods, including modern techniques such as laser therapies, microneedling, corticosteroid injections, and silicone dressings. Special attention is given to the treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids, which present significant challenges in contemporary medicine. An analysis of recent studies highlights the effectiveness of these methods in improving scar appearance and reducing discomfort associated with scars. Additionally, emerging experimental therapies, such as the use of stem cells and monoclonal antibody treatments, are discussed. The findings suggest that early intervention and individualized treatment approaches are crucial for achieving optimal aesthetic and functional outcomes. |
