Popis: The article analyzes the educational potential of group work on geography. The general educational value of geography for the formation of not only subject (geographic), but also key competences of professional junior bachelors, including socio-economic competence, is revealed. The formation of socio-economic competence thanks to the work of the «International Organizations» circle has been demonstrated. It is highlighted that it is group work in geography that provides the opportunity to ensure that professional junior bachelors acquire knowledge about the goals, principles and functions of international organizations, their role in the system of international economic relations, the ability to determine benefits and possible losses from the country's participation in certain organizations through analysis. This is realized by improving students' understanding of the geographical picture of the world – the era of the processes of integration and globalization, where the influence of international organizations on the regulation of international, in particular, interstate relations is growing. The motivational potential of group work in terms of Ukraine's modern and promising cooperation with international organizations, which are of primary importance for our country, is emphasized, since the current state and prospects of the Ukrainian economy largely depend on their positions. It is shown the need to prepare professional junior bachelors who are able to adapt to new conditions and actively participate in social and economic transformations of society. The identified perspectives of the research are oriented to the modern practical activity of Ukraine in international organizations and the prospects of its involvement in a wide range of communities. It has been proven that group work on geography contributes to the formation of socio-economic competence of professional junior bachelors. The group classes improve the geographical education of the group members through the formation of a holistic geographical image of the planet Earth, the study of global, economic, socio-cultural problems, the processes of economic and political integration of countries and peoples. Such knowledge is one of the most important factors in the formation of clear personal life and professional guidelines. They contribute to the effective implementation of life-creating strategies, the prevention of deviant behavior, successful social adaptation, and the formation of a full-fledged subject of social relations.
