About the need to publish a new Red Data Book of Serbian butterflies and moths (Insecta: Lepidoptera)

| Popis: | The reach of the Red Data Book of Butterflies in Serbia 16 years after it's publication has been analysed. It has been concluded that it came too early since the supporting documents important for implementation were not available. These important documents and years of their publishing are listed here. Suggestion on addition of 25 obligatory species from Natura 2000 network has been done. Principles of selection of other species that do not belong to the mentioned group, but have to be included in the Red Data Book, have been suggested. Approximate con-tent of segments for description of every species has been given. |
