Popis: Determination of the tactics for a treatment of trophic ulcers of the cornea is a difficult problem requiring maximum of information about the status of cornea. This information can be obtained by such modern and non-contact method as anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT). Seventy-nine-year-old female patient with a long history of trophic corneal ulcer, after repeated courses of appropriate conservative therapy was examined by the anterior segment optical coherence tomography. Optical coherence tomography allowed visualization of additional defects in the posterior stromal layers and an intrastromal cavity formation. Due to the AS-OCT information it was possible to perform a timely surgery – keratoplasty.
