Supervisor Perceptions of Student Teachers’ Experiences in United States Department of Defense Schools in Germany

Popis: In this qualitative study, we explored university supervisors’ perceptions of student teachers’ experiences in a study abroad program in United States Department of Defense Schools in Germany. We identified six emergent themes as university supervisors: (a) identify characteristics among student teachers who have been successful in the program, (b) identify advantages for student teachers who participate in the program, (c) believe positive relationships are critically important, (d) believe university supports are critical for student teacher success, (e) compare their supervisor responsibilities with those in traditional student teaching programs, and (f) note opportunities for the program to better serve student teachers.
