Popis: | Objective To investigate the current situation of parents' knowledge on self-medication of their children with antibiotics in the process of self-medicating in Sichuan and Chongqing area, and to propose countermeasures and suggestions for parents to carry out reasonable self-medication for their children. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was adopted to investigate the parents in the above areas, using both online applet "Questionnaire Star" and offline paper questionnaire. A total of 1 068 questionnaires were distributed. Univariate and logistic regression analyses were performed to analyze the factors affecting parents' cognitive level of self-medication of their children with antibiotics. Results A total of 992 valid questionnaires were collected, and the qualified rate of parents' knowledge about antibiotics self-medication was 59.8%. Univariate analysis showed that education level, family structure, occupation and parents' age were the factors influencing their cognitive level of antibiotics (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis indicated that parents with higher education level, higher monthly income and two-parent families had higher scores of drug knowledge (P < 0.05). Conclusion Education level, family income and family structure are independent influencing factors for parents' cognitive level on self-medication of their children with antibiotics, and targeted intervention is needed to reduce improper self-medication. |
