Popis: | In this work the adsorption and recovery of phenol from its aqueous solutions has been the main purpose. The lignite coals obtained from Yeniköy, İstanbul, have been chosen as the adsorbent matter. The sample taken has first been activated. The activation of lignite samples were carried out by either heating with sulphuric acid or through destillation in an inert atmosphere. Aqueous solutions of phenol of various concentrations have been used in the adsorption process. It was seen that the adsorption results were in perfect correlation with the Langmuir isotherm. As a result, it has been proved that these lignite coals which have been used for heating purposes till today, can also be used as a good adsorbent agent. Furthermore, it has been observed that phenol can be removed some waste waters and its recovery process can even be possible under certain conditions. |
