ABSTRACT: Intravascular fasciitis (IVF) is a special type of nodular fasciitis, which is very rare. It is often misdiagnosed as malignant tumor or deep vein thrombosis by imaging examination before operation. Pathological examination can make a definite diagnosis, and surgical resection can cure it and which with little recurrence. In this case, a 22-year-old young man presented with a 3-day history of swelling and pain of the right lower limb, and suspected deep venous thrombosis of the lower limb by ultrasound examination in local hospital. We further performed CT examination for him and which suggested that the right common femoral vein occupied. Surgical removal of the venous mass and pathological examination were performed to finally diagnose the intravascular nodular fasciitis. After 3 months of operation, CT examination showed that the disease recurred and conservative treatment was given. After 1 month of follow-up, the volume of space-occupying lesions decreased, and after 6 months of follow-up, CT examination showed that the original space-occupying lesions disappeared. This paper describes the course, diagnosis and treatment of the patient in detail, aiming at improving people's understanding of the disease and reducing misdiagnosis and excessive treatment. |
