The present study was carried out in order to verify the presence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii antibodies in goat and sheep farms located in different mesoregions within the State of Pernambuco – Brazil. Blood samples were collected from 1 64 goats and 1 24 sheep and submitted tothe indirect immunofluorescence technique. The results showed positive rates of 47.6% (78/1 64) and 48.4% (60/1 24) for goats and sheep, respectively. A significant difference of infection rates in the different regions was observed in both goats and sheep. |
