| Popis: | In this paper, the possibility of studying both the atomic and electronic structures of a surface as well as the interaction with simple molecules through the Scanning Probe Microscopes (SPMs) is shown. Emphasis on the Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) and on the Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) it is made. For each case a description of the instrument, of their operation modes is presented. Sorne interesting applications are also shown. |
