Cervantes' knight is a character that has become an inexhaustible source of interpretations. In this article, I analyze two adaptations of Cervantes’s text: La voz de los mitos: grandeza y servidumbre del hombre (García Martí 1941) and La razón blindada (Vargas 2005), one produced during the Spanish dictatorship and the another connected to the dictatorial regime in Argentina. Although the image of Don Quixote outlined in both texts is very far from each other, the Cervantine mythologem is evoked in both cases as a guide for the other characters in the works mentioned. |
