Popis: This article is the result of bibliographic research and discusses how the environmental issue, led by hegemonic global capitalist interests, accentuates social and gender inequalities, and affects the life of local populations in different parts of the world. It also looks at how environmental degradation compromises the life of women in particular and how they plot their resistance by constructing socio-environmental movements and struggles. It allows observing that despite cultural differences and geographic distances, African, Asian and Latin American women come together in actions to confront environmental degradation led by industrial and developmentalist projects in their territories.
