INTRODUCTION: Smoking is an important public health problem in the world. This research was performed to determine the smoking rates and the influencing factors of the nursing students. METHODS: The universe of the cross-sectional study comprised 377 students of the nursing department. A questionnaire consisting of 2 parts (socio-demographic characteristics and smoking-related questions) was applied to 309 students who were in the class between 30 November and 16 December 2015.
