Popis:	The article is a contribution to Athanasios Souliotis-Nikolaidis (1878–1945), a prominent Greek national activist in the first decade of the 20th century, who articulated a political and cultural concept for the future of Greece that became known as the so called "Oriental Ideal". This concept is examined in the contemporary ideological context of Greek nationalism as of his personal conflict experiences in Macedonia which seems to have been crucial for its formation.
