Popis: | The most common type of genetic variation is the SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism), a position in the genome at which two alternative bases occur in the population. Although individual SNPs are less informative than the currently used genetic markers, they are more abundant and have greater potential for automation (Conner et al., 1983; Cronin et al., 1996). For this reason genotyping of SNPs will likely be a major part of every genetic investigation, not only in Human but also in livestock specie genetics.
