Determination of Conflict Resolution Strategies of Nursing Students

Popis: INTRODUCTION: Considering that nursing students will be health professionals as a result of their education, they will provide care and stay in conflict environment; It is important to identify and develop conflict resolution styles of nursing students. The research was conducted to determine the conflict resolution styles of nursing students and the factors. METHODS: The study was carried out with 272 students studying in the Nursing Department. The results of the study were collected by the Introductory Information Form and the Conflict Resolution Styles Scale. RESULTS: Of the students included in the study reported that 80.5% were women, 73.5% were in the 18-21 age group, 96.3% were single, 62.5% were Anatolian High School graduates and 30.1% were first and 30.1% were second grade students. It is determined that the students use the most accommodation and the least the strategy of domination. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: In order for the conflict resolution to take place effectively, it is necessary to increase the awareness, the types of conflicts that may arise in the health service and the information about the sources of conflict should be given to each nurse candidate.
