Popis: In order to solve the environmental protection problem of defective paint remover for automobile wheel hub, a halogen - free, benzene - free and phenol - free low toxic emulsion paint remover was developed. The paint removal performance of such remover was studied when it was used in conjunction with environmentally friendly paint stripping equipment to treat alloy steel surfaces coated with (105±5) μm thick thermoset epoxy coating as well as automotive wheel hub samples coated with epoxy primer and acrylic resin topcoat. The optimized formula of such paint remover obtained through orthogonal test was as follows: the mass fraction of ethyl acetate (the primary solvent ) was 21.96%, the mass fraction ratio of benzyl alcohol to methanol (the cosolvents) was 2∶1, the mass fraction ratio of formic acid to acetic acid (the accelerators) was 6.62∶1.00, the ratio of emulsifier cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) to surfactant OP - 10 was 1∶1, and the mass fraction of deionized water was 11.82%. In case of the optimized formula, the paint removal efficiency of such remover could reach 100% within 30 min when treating thermosettin epoxy coating on alloy steel surface, and could reach 100% within 15 min when treating composite coating on auto wheel hub sample. The paint remover could be used repeatedly for 4 times, and meanwhile the aluminum substrate of the treated auto wheel hub would not lose luster.
