Popis: This text analyzes the process of institution of Teachers’ Day in Brazil, which is celebrated in October 15th since 1933. The different meanings of this date are identified from the perspective that it was an opportunity to give teachers’ issues public visibility and to express different thoughts on teachers’ work.
