Popis: The genetic code for amino acids is nearly universal, and among eukaryotic nuclear genomes the only known reassignments are of codon CUG in yeasts. Here, the authors identify a third independent CUG transition in budding yeasts that is still ongoing with alternative tRNAs present in the genome.
