Popis: | The main objective of this study is to identify growth determinants and challenges of Micro and small enterprises in Oromia regional state North Shoa zone in selected towns. For this particular study, primary data were collected from 357 respondents from four selected town and multistage method of sampling combined with random sampling from selected town. Data was analyzed Descriptive method of data analysis and binary logistic regression model. Based on the finding, the most challenge during startup is working area problem followed by shortage of finance and market problem are the main challenge they face during start up. Challenges during operation are market problems which are followed by unaffordable tax and shortage of finance. Based on binary logistic regression the study identified determinants of MSEs those are previous experience, location of MSE, Access to market linkage, Access to credit, government support, horizontal linkage, sector, and other source of income have a positive and significant effect on growth of micro and small enterprise. The study recommends that owners/managers should diversify their source of income, expand their knowledge, focus on quality and customer oriented product whereas Government shall select proper area of working and creating market linkage. |
