Popis: | This paper focuses on energy which is a source of many serious environmental problems and examines the existence of convergence of energy per capita amongst countries in order to shed light on whether energy per capita has been growing and whether the trend is likely to change in the future. It was found that there was no evidence of convergence of energy per capita with any of the cases in the past for the world and Non-OECD countries while we found convergence of energy per capita for OECD countries. Concerning future prediction, there was no evidence of a compressed ergodic distribution of energy per capita for the world and Non-OECD countries, while a compressed distribution around the OECD average was seen for OECD countries. |
