| Popis: | ABSTRACT: Objective: To determine the effect of apo E polymorphism on lipid profile in patients of myocardial infarction as well as normal healthy controls. Subjects and Method: Total 100 acute myocardial infarction patients with age and gender matched controls, within age ranging from 25 to 80 years were included. Lipid profile levels of MI patients and controls were estimated by standard methods. DNA’s were extracted by salting out method and Genotypes for Apo-E were determined by Multiplex Amplification Refractory Mutation System PCR. Results: The total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, TC/HDL-C ratio, LDL-C/HDL-C ratio level was significantly increased (p Conclusion: Our results suggestive that the risk of myocardial infarction associated with apo E4E4 alleles which are major risk factor for developing the coronary artery disease. |
