Nephrocalcinosis is an exceptionally rare disease. It is diagnosed by a nativeurinary tract roentgenogram. The roentgen image is pathognomonic: in the medullarenis the rnicrocalcifications or so-called "flaky granulation", or, more rarely, themacrocalcifications appear on a limited area or in a diffused way, while in the renalcortex the are, intermittent or continuous linear calcifications in the external renalregions are parallel to the kidney contour as so-called "tramway lines"; the medullaappears as a transparent soft tissue medium. |
