Kirill Polkovs doktorsavhandling Queering Images of Russia in Sweden: Discursive hegemony and counter-hegemonic articulations 1991–2019 tar ett kritiskt perspektiv på internationella relationer, särskilt med fokus på kulturella representationer av nationer. I en konfliktfylld värld föreslår Polkov att queer mångfald i föreställningar om sexualitet och nationer är ett svar på både den »homofobiska heteronationalismen» i auktoritära regimer och kolonialismen inom den västerländska HBTQ-rättighetsdiskursen. Kirill Polkov's doctoral dissertation Queering Images of Russia in Sweden: Discursive hegemony and counter-hegemonic articulations 1991–2019 takes a critical perspective on international relations, with a particular focus on the cultural representations of nations. In a world filled with conflict, Polkov Polkov suggests queer diversity in conceptions of sexuality and nations as a response to both the "homophobic heteronationalism" of authoritarian regimes and the colonialism of Western LGBTQ rights discourse. |
