| Popis: | Posterior segment intraocular foreign bodies pose a problem in restoration of significant visual acuity usually due to delayed presentation, improper evaluation and management. However, good history taking, meticulous ocular examination and proper management can result in reasonable visual acuity in cases of retained intraocular foreign body in the posterior segment. We are presenting a case report of penetrating ocular trauma with retained intraocular foreign body in the posterior segment. Following intraocular foreign body removal, core vitrectomy and subsequent cataract extraction, the patient had best corrected visual acuity of 6/9.
