Popis:	The development of modern public administration in European cities facilitated the construction of various types of public buildings. Among these, guardhouses were a prominent type in the 18th century, used to house the police force under civil or military jurisdiction. Guardhouses were widespread within the Habsburg Empire and were common in the Croatian and Slavonian Military Frontier.
