Bibliometric analysis of the «Journal of Medicine and Movies» (2009?2014)

Popis: The aim of this paper was to perform a bibliometric study about the Journal of Medicine and Movies in the period between 2009 and 2014, in order to partially update the data concerning to the first bibliometric analysis, published in 2009, about the data of the journal’s first four years (2005?2008), and also to complete the analysis of this journal’s first ten years of edition. The data were obtained from the journal by extracting information about articles, authorships, bibliographic references and keywords. The articles’ distribution was: Editorial comments and/or Editorials (24,67%), Originals (58.22%), Editors’ forum (0,68%), Correspondence (0,68%) and Medicine in film stills (15,75%). Most of the papers were signed by one author (50,69%). Authors’ geographical origin showed a predominance of Spaniards, followed by Argentinians and Americans. The average of references per article was 10,96. The Journal of Medicine and Movies submits overall indicators that are similar to those of other scientific journals. For the time being it can be surely considered as a referent of the use of the cinema in the surroundings of the education and the health training.
