Popis: Transcription factor Rme1 regulates meiosis and pseudohyphal growth in baker’s yeast, but its role in the meiosis-defective pathogen Candida albicans is unclear. Here, Hernández-Cervantes et al. show that Rme1 activates the expression of genes required for formation of asexual spores in Candida species.
