Popis: The effect of aluminium addition on the thermal parameters of Pb–Sn alloy was investigated. The technique of Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) was selected to determine the phase transformation temperatures and the effect of varying heating rates. Thermal parameters such as melting temperature (Tm), crystallization temperature (Tc), the true melting temperature (Tonset), initial melting peak temperature (Ton), end melting peak temperature (Toff), enthalpy of fusion, activation energy of melting (Em) and activation energy of crystallization (Ec) were calculated. The dependence of activation energies of melting and crystallization with Al content have been discussed in detail.
