The purpose of the research is to assess the known and to develop new approaches to determine the number and location of emitters and create irrigation facilities for drip irrigation of fruit-bearing apple trees, taking into account the parameters of feed zones, sizes of plant root systems and requirements for their cultivation. In the process of research it was found that the technical parameters of drip irrigation facilities of perennial woody plants should satisfy their need for water, take into account the biological features and sizes of their root systems and not interfere with the maintenance of agro-technical works. Until recently these conditions are not fully observable to different degrees and in different combinations. The requirement for the placement and provision of the required number of drip water outlets within the food zone and the location of the main part of the plants root systems is met to a lesser extent. In the course of investigation, the experimental data on the parameters of the root systems of apple trees growing on chernosems under the natural and climatic conditions of Rostov region were obtained. On the basis of the obtained and known experimental material, dependences for predicting the size of the distribution zones of the main part of the fruit-bearing apple trees roots were derived. As a result of the research, a method for determining the number and location of emitters, which provide the drip irrigation of apple plants according to the agro-technical requirements was proposed. For the implementation of drip irrigation of perennial trees, a drip irrigation facility has been proposed, the design of which allows moistening both the in-row and inter-row space of the plant’s nutritional area and automatically releases inter-row space after the irrigation is completed, thus ensuring the smooth running of maintenance and other types of work in inter-row space between irrigation. |
