The spirit of educators embodies the value pursuits, personal traits, and professional dedication of teachers, endowing them with a lofty mission and providing fundamental guidance for teacher development in the new era. It is necessary to shape souls and strengthen teachers under the lead of the spirit of educators, and to advance education development, scientific and technological innovation, and talent cultivation in an integrated manner. This is not only a powerful means to build China into a country strong in education with its own characteristics, but also a significant proposition in implementing the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping at the National Education Conference. In 2024, it coincides with the 120th birthday of Professor Zhang Furong, a renowned educator in China and a pivotal founder of the discipline of curriculum and teaching theory. To commemorate his outstanding academic contributions, the Faculty of Education at Southwest University held an academic seminar in honor of Professor Zhang Furong's 120th birthday, aiming to inherit and promote his profound educational thoughts and noble spirit of educators, and to better leverage his significant role in guiding innovations in educational theory and promoting the construction of educational disciplines. |
